The South Pasadena Tigers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the San Marino Titans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with South Pasadena sitting on three straight wins and San Marino on 12.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for South Pasadena at home against Dorsey as the team secured a 82-24 win. With South Pasadena ahead 55-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Russell Williams, who scored 23 points along with 4 steals. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Peterson, who scored 12 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals.
San Marino has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 59-39 margin over South. Given San Marino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while South is ranked 225th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Pasadena's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Dorsey's defeat dropped theirs to 5-8.
South Pasadena didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against San Marino when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win.
