The Platte Valley Broncos will head out on the road to take on the Yuma Outlaws at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Platte Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Yuma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Platte Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Strasburg, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Broncos were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Indians on Thursday. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Hazen Weber made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Platte Valley got a massive performance out of Hudson Flummerfelt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Dagan Gomez was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Platte Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strasburg only posted an OBP of .292.
Meanwhile, Yuma unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Haxtun by a score of 8-6.
Jesus Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lennox Huwa, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Platte Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Yuma, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Platte Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Yuma struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
