The Camden County Wildcats waltzed into Tuesday's match with six straight wins but they left with seven. They managed a 65-61 win over First Coast. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Camden County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was DeNigel Cooper out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrius Thomas, who scored ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Camden County's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for First Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Camden County will be home for the holidays to greet South Effingham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Effingham focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. As for First Coast, they will head out on the road to face off against Englewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Englewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while First Coast is ranked 113th).
