After soaring to 34 points the game before, Covenant Christian Academy were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Ascension Catholic on the road and fell 36-3. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Despite the defeat, Covenant Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Connor Lally rushed for 144 yards. Lally was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
Meanwhile, Jeanerette put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over Highland Baptist Christian. The win was just what Jeanerette needed coming off of a 42-8 defeat in their prior matchup.
Covenant Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Jeanerette, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
