Awaken Christian is 7-2 against the Bobcats since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Awaken Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the White Pine Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Awaken Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
Awaken Christian waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-52 win over Founders Classical Academy.
Awaken Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Jordan out in front who scored 24 points along with six assists. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Abel Sebsebie, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, White Pine slipped by the Guardians 42-41 on Saturday. The win was just what White Pine needed coming off of a 69-48 loss in their prior matchup.
Awaken Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for White Pine, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
Awaken Christian beat the Bobcats 63-55 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Awaken Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
