Sierra lost to Pueblo County 46-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Maliek Spencer was a bright spot for the Stallions, as he ran for 61 yards in the defeat.
Pueblo East made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,766 from 4,647. The advance stemmed from a 51-16 victory over Pueblo Central last week.
The Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Danny Martin threw for 78 and 3 touchdowns and Alex Mestas had 49 yards receiving. On the ground Marco Perez contributed 159 yards. Jimmy Valdez helped Pueblo East's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 16 yards.

On the heels of Kurt Rode and Perez, David Ramirez's team has had great success on offense. Rode leads the league in passing with 748 yards, while Perez has rushed for 664 yards this season. Pueblo Central's Nikko Valdez leads the league in receiving yards with 426 on 34 catches.
The top two teams in 3A Southern will face off this week when first place The Classical Academy takes on second place Pueblo East. The Classical Academy beat Harrison last week, while the Eagles topped Zach Odell's team.
Next week's game between Pueblo East and the Titans will feature a good passing match up as Rode will test his arm against Kyle Jacobs's defensive ability.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and The Classical Academy face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Pueblo East comes in having scored 134 this season, while David Bervig's team has scored 198. The Eagles scored 51 points last week as they beat the Wildcats.
