Clover Garden School is 9-1 against River Mill since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will head out on the road to take on the Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. River Mill took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Clover Garden School, who comes in off a win.
While Clover Garden School's victory against Chatham Charter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Grizzlies had just enough and edged out the Knights 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Grizzlies, who have now won three contests in a row.
Gracie Hensley and Brandi Markham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hensley pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Markham struck out six batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Hensley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Hensley scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Markham scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Markham a new career-high in doubles (two).

Meanwhile, River Mill unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 14-6 to Cornerstone Charter.
Summer Basden was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Pryce Lovette, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Clover Garden School pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for River Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clover Garden School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like River Mill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clover Garden School took their victory against River Mill in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
