On Friday Mt. Vernon take on Tipton at 7:30 PM. Mt. Vernon are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.
After a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, Mt. Vernon were humbled last Friday. They lost to West Liberty by a decisive 9-27 margin. Mt. Vernon's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the match before.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Tipton, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They made easy work of Camanche and carried off a 61-34 win.
Tipton's win lifted them to 4-1 while Mt. Vernon's loss dropped them down to 2-3. We'll see if Tipton's success rolls on or if Mt. Vernon are able to steal their positive momentum.
