6A District 4 recap October 1, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Conner Uselton and Jaelon Walker connected against Edmond Santa Fe. The connection went for 66 yards, the longest such play in 6A District 4 this season.
Lawton added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Edmond Memorial, 28-21. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Jonah Llanusa was a passing and rushing force as Choctaw beat Putnam City West. He completed 16 passes for 202 yards and also ran for 122 yards. Llanusa's favorite target this week was Casey Henninger, who caught 8 passes for 86 yards.
Caleb Shimp was a force in the backfield as the Yellowjackets defeated the Patriots.
Uselton put up the best numbers through the air as Southmoore lost to the Wolves. He finished with 11 completions for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns.
6-foot-1 quarterback Llanusa of Choctaw is the league leader in passing yards this season with 694. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malik Earl. The Edmond Santa Fe star has 12 catches for 310 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Todd Dilbeck's team takes on Lawton. At the moment, the Yellowjackets are in fourth, while Randy Breeze's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Choctaw and the Wolverines face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Yellowjackets comes in having scored 146 this season, while Lawton has scored 184. Choctaw scored 59 points last week as it topped Putnam City West.
The Yellowjackets were the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to fourth in 6A District 4. Choctaw defeated Rocky Martin's team 59-35 earlier in the week.
