AAA District 8 recap October 1, 2013
Tullahoma moved up to 156 from 199 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAA District 8. The Wildcats were able to move up by beating Warren County 28-3.
Lawrence County added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Spring Hill, 49-28. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Lawrence County's dynamic duo of A.J. Long and Jacob Lovelace proved to be unstoppable against the Raiders, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Long threw for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns and Lovelace had 78 yards receiving.
August Hill provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Lincoln County lost to Franklin. Hill's favorite target this week was Josh Whitaker, who caught 4 passes for 21 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Hunter Myers of Tullahoma is the league leader in passing yards this season with 945. He has also thrown 5 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tyler Eddings. The Shelbyville Central star has 18 catches for 441 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when David Marston's team takes on the Falcons. The Wildcats are in first place, while Lincoln County is in third place.
Columbia Central lost to Brighton 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
