Scotia-Glenville is a perfect 3-0 against Glens Falls since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tartans will face off against the Black Bears at 4:30 p.m. Scotia-Glenville is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Scotia-Glenville and Broadalbin-Perth had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tartans walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Patriots on Wednesday. While the Tartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Hayden Sladewski looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Steven Nicklas was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Riley Jackson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Glens Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Queensbury on Wednesday, sneaking past 7-6.
Aidan Perry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chace Davidson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Glens Falls has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Scotia-Glenville, their record is now 6-3.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Scotia-Glenville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like Glens Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Scotia-Glenville beat Glens Falls 8-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Tartans repeat their success, or do the Black Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
