The Crawford Colts fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Point Loma Pointers on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pointers. Crawford has struggled against Point Loma recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Crawford still got an impressive performance from Tico Kirkpatrick, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Dominick Espalin, who scored 15 points.
Grant Stewart continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Point Loma, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Stewart also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Crawford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Point Loma, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Crawford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Point Loma, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canyon Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Point Loma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
