Del Oro moved up to 136 from 208 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra Foothill. The Golden Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of a 20-13 win over Logan.
Granite Bay led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Lincoln. Grant Caraway threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Mitchell Layton was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 133 yards on 17 carries as Woodcreek bested the Trojans. Vince Fernandez also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Ellison was the best wideout in Sierra Foothill this week as Granite Bay bested Lincoln. Ellison racked up seven receptions for 92 yards. Ty Serna helped Granite Bay's passing attack out by catching four balls for 42 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Stephen Nogosek and Layton the Timberwolves have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Nogosek leads the league in passing with 1242 yards, while Layton has rushed for 627 yards this season. Nevada Union's Ian Davis leads the league in receiving yards with 542 on 33 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Miners take on Rocklin. At the moment, Nevada Union is in first, while the Thunder are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Dave Humphers's team takes on Rocklin. The Miners have allowed 119 points this season, while Greg Benzel's team has given up 94.
