The Immaculate Mustangs came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They slipped by New Milford 46-45. This was payback for Immaculate, who suffered a 49-32 loss the last time these two teams met.
Immaculate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Saidman led the charge by scoring 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Miller, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Immaculate's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for New Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immaculate will take on New Fairfield at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for New Milford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brookfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
