The biggest upset of the week belonged to Headland, who defeated 222nd ranked Ashford, 32-26.
St. James's Frank Moody rumbled for the longest rushing play in 4A Region 2 this season in his game against Alabama Christian Academy last week. Moody's team topped the Eagles as he sprinted for 97 yards on the play and finished with 222 in all.
Chandler Taylor was a passing and rushing force as Alabama Christian Academy lost to St. James. He completed 16 passes for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 103 yards. Taylor's favorite target this week was Larrry Teague, who caught 6 passes for 65 yards.
Moody was a beast in the backfield as Jimmy Perry's team bested Bill Moore's team.
Selmar Russell made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles fell to the Trojans. The 6-foot-0 sophomore recorded 1 fumble.
Dalton Gross threw for 121 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 9-11 with 0 interceptions.
Moody was the best running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 222 yards as St. James bested Alabama Christian Academy. Jaylen McCoy also contributed to the rushing game with 20 yards on the ground.
The Eagles' Taylor and Hudson Pugh have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Taylor has thrown for 2,517 yards this season, while Pugh has 29 catches for 663 yards. The Trojans' Moody leads the league in rushing yards with 1,346.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Region 2 this week, Charles Henderson beat Bullock County 57-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Trojans.
