Poteet is 3-0 against the Dragons since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Poteet Pirates will look to defend their home court against the Seagoville Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Poteet sitting on nine straight victories and the Dragons on three.
In what's become a running theme this season, Poteet gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 63-20 victory over Conrad. Given Poteet's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Chargers are ranked 1239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Seagoville didn't have too much trouble with the Timberwolves at home on Tuesday as they won 58-39.
Seagoville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amia West, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points West has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jai White, who scored 12 points.
Poteet has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for Seagoville, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11.
Everything came up roses for Poteet against the Dragons in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 64-25 win. Does Poteet have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
