Oley Valley is 9-1 against Brandywine Heights Area since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Lynx will square off against the Bullets at 6:30 p.m. Oley Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Brandywine Heights Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Oley Valley's victory against Tulpehocken wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lynx won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lynx, who until this game were averaging 3.82 runs allowed.
Luke Petersen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Luke Manwiller was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Timothy Fries was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Brandywine Heights Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to Conestoga Christian.
Brandywine Heights Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Sterner, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Oley Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Brandywine Heights Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Oley Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's match. The Lynx have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Brandywine Heights Area, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Oley Valley continue to outrun the ball?
