Dillon is 10-0 against Georgetown since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Dillon Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Georgetown Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dillon has five straight wins, Georgetown has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Dillon has not done well against Waccamaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Dillon came out on top against Waccamaw by a score of 41-32.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dillon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Treasure Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. Another player making a difference was Mariah Campbell, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-25, which was the final score in Georgetown's tilt against Aynor on Monday. Georgetown was down 42-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Dillon pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Georgetown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.
Everything came up roses for Dillon against Georgetown when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 63-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dillon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
