This season hasn't been kind to the Lake Weir Hurricanes, who are still winless after their 14th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 65-9 loss at the hands of Dunnellon. Lake Weir was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-4.
Tatiana Matthews continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dunnellon, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 steals. Matthews is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Princess Hardin was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Lake Weir dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.1 points per game. As for Dunnellon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-3.
Lake Weir does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dunnellon will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m.
