Softball Recap: Torres Has No Trouble Against San Joaquin Memorial

Torres won the last time they faced San Joaquin Memorial and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Toros blew past the Panthers 24-8. Considering the Toros have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla Webster made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Mylah Avila was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. J'lynn Mitchell was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Torres kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Joaquin Memorial only managed six hits.

The victory got Torres back to even at 10-10. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
