The Bell Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Roosevelt Roughriders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 44-17, which was the final score in Bell's tilt against McKinley Tech on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bell in their matchups with McKinley Tech: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 56-29 victory over Woodson. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Roosevelt has managed all season.
Roosevelt's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamar'sha Wilson, who scored 18 points along with seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least 25% of Roosevelt's points. Simmons Taniesha was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Roosevelt, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Bell suffered a grim 47-21 defeat to Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in February. Can Bell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
