Basketball Recap: Reese Rhodehamel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Wayne Bishop Luers over Fort Wayne Wayne

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers was the 62-47 winner over Fort Wayne Wayne when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Wayne Wayne Generals. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reese Rhodehamel, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Rhodehamel is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Warner, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 6.6 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.1.

Leading Fort Wayne Wayne to victory were Davianna Irons and Layla Williams. Irons almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds, while Williams went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points and six boards. Tanea Hairston was another key player, putting up ten points.

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' record now sits at 8-14. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, they moved to 12-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
