The North Eugene Highlanders had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They snuck past Mountain View with a 60-56 victory on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
India Mohiuddin was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jonas Spencer, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
North Eugene's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
North Eugene will square off against North Marion at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against Sandy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
