The East Dubuque Warriors will face off against the Morrison Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East Dubuque has three straight victories, Morrison has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, East Dubuque made easy work of West Carroll and carried off a 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Curin Oberman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Husemann, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Lexy Sheehan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Morrison suffered their closest loss since April 14, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of Milledgeville by a score of 7-5.
Like East Dubuque, Morrison also got a great game from a two-way player: Caylee Bramm. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Bramm a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Peyton Lowery made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bella Scachette, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
East Dubuque's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Morrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
