Pampa and Hereford are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Pampa Harvesters will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Hereford Whitefaces at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pampa has three straight victories, Hereford has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Pampa made easy work of Borger and carried off an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Harvesters, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Maecie Hawthorne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Hawthorne was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.

In other batting news, Pampa let Briley Daniels and Kassie Arnzen run wild. Daniels scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Arnzen scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Daniels continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Carsyn Hunt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Pampa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hereford lost 11-1 to West Plains on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Whitefaces have lost by exactly ten runs.
Pampa's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hereford, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
Pampa took their win against Hereford when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-2. Does Pampa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hereford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
