After both having extra time off, the South County Stallions and the Alexandria City Titans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.
South County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Woodson just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Cavaliers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Stallions have suffered since September 3rd.
While South County was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 26-24, 25-20.
Despite their loss, South County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Devin Ko, who had nine digs and one assist, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, Alexandria City came up short against West Springfield on Tuesday, falling 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-7, 25-18.
South County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Alexandria City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
South County was able to grind out a solid win over Alexandria City in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stallions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
