After losing to the Troy Trojans the last time they met, the Fairborn Skyhawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Fairborn came out on top in a nail-biter against Troy on Friday and snuck past 42-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fairborn.
Fairborn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sean Townsend, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Townsend pulled down eight or more rebounds. Taiyou Williams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Fairborn now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Troy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairborn will challenge Xenia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Xenia is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to face off against Piqua at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Piqua is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
