Basketball Recap: Eastside Early College Extends Winning Streak to Three

Eastside Early College entered their tilt with Travis on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over the Travis Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Rebels since December 5, 2017.

Jakob Acosta was his usual excellent self, going 13 of 16 en route to 31 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaymond Wilkins, who posted six points along with ten boards and three blocks.

Eastside Early College has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Travis, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Eastside Early College will head out to face off against Gateway College Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gateway College Preparatory has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Travis, they will welcome Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
