It was a good run, but the West Lafayette Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Danville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (61), West Lafayette still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Scrafton, who scored 27 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scrafton has scored all season. Zachary Waits was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
West Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Danville, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lafayette will square off against Twin Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Danville, Danville and Western Boone will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Western Boone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
