Scholars Guild Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Peachtree Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. Scholars Guild Academy never let Peachtree Academy get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Thursday. Fans of the Spartans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Madison Kenny was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Noelle Boeckman was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kerrigan Welch was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base.

Scholars Guild Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Scholars Guild Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Peachtree Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.

Scholars Guild Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Peachtree Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
