Even though the Sacred Heart Eagles scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the Thompson Tommies still came out on top. Everything went Thompson's way against the Eagles as the Tommies made off with a 80-59 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Thompson.
Thompson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Overby, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Overby is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wolfgram, who scored eight points along with eight assists.
Thompson pushed their record up to 7-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Sacred Heart, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thompson will challenge the Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Dunseith's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Sacred Heart, they will head out on the road to square off against the Prowlers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
