Basketball Recap: St. John Takes a Loss

St. John lost against Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. John Woodchucks fell 50-42 to the Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon Hornets.

When it comes to explaining why St. John lost, don't look at Kennley Davis. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine boards. The contest was Davis' fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Ava Delorme was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Even though they lost, St. John smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive matchups.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rachel Neumiller, who went 6-for-13 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Braylee Keller, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards.

St. John's record is now 7-13. As for Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.

St. John has already played their next game, a 50-42 loss against Harvey on the 3rd. As for Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-30 defeat against Westhope/Newburg on the 11th.
