The Thatcher Eagles were the 56-36 winner over the Sunnyside Blue Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Thatcher had to suffer through a rough 62-24 loss at the hands of Sunnyside.
Among those leading the charge was Nayeli Nidez-Acu?a, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dora Medina, who scored 11 points along with 5 steals.
Thatcher's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sunnyside, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Thatcher will take on Mica Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sunnyside, they will face off against Walden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
