The Beech Grove Hornets pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Park Tudor. While losing is never fun, Beech Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Park Tudor is ranked 38th).
Simeon Mcintosh and Branden Okelley certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Mcintosh scored 14 points, while Okelley scored 13 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Okelley grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Huff, who scored two points along with three steals.
Beech Grove has fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 3-11. As for Park Tudor, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beech Grove will take on Southport at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Southport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. Park Tudor won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th.
