In what's become a running theme this season, the Whitharral Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-40 victory over Anton at home. The victory was familiar territory for Whitharral who now have seven in a row.
Whitharral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathaniel Sansom led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Sansom has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Nomar Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Whitharral's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. As for Anton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Whitharral will head out on the road to face off against the Antelopes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whiteface will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1267th, while the Panthers are ranked 613th). As for Anton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Amherst is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
