On Friday, Ursuline Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Carver, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ursuline Academy.
Carver's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadyn Sotomayor, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Sotomayor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Josie Helms was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Ursuline Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Carver, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Ursuline Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fontbonne Academy at 6:30 p.m. As for Carver, they will head out on the road to face off against Middleborough at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
