The Paschal Panthers will challenge the Haltom Buffalos at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Haltom will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Paschal extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Panthers never let Everman get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Haltom brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past Bridgeport 13-5 on Friday. The Buffalos not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2025 (when they won 12-0).
Orlando Reyes and Cannon Wallace made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Reyes tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Wallace pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Reyes went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Wallace went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Wallace a new career-high.
In other batting news, Landen Nelson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Mathew Turner, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Haltom always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Paschal's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Haltom, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.
Everything went Paschal's way against Haltom when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Paschal made off with a 12-0 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffalos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
