After a string of four wins, the Cascade Cadets's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Danville, falling 72-43. Cascade lost against Danville in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-36 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Cascade lost, one person who can't be blamed is Liviair Campbell. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. Campbell also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Creedance Chittenden, who scored nine points.
Emma Ancelet continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Danville, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists. Those 12 assists set a new season-high mark for her. Addison Davis was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Cascade now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Danville, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Cascade will play host again and welcome Avon, where tip off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Allowing an average of 50 points per game, Avon has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. As for Danville, they will head out on the road to face off against Tri-West Hendricks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tri-West Hendricks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Friday.
