The Widefield Gladiators will venture away from home to take on the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Widefield has seven straight victories, Discovery Canyon has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Widefield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Mesa Ridge 15-0. Considering the Gladiators have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Widefield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Discovery Canyon struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Widefield couldn't quite get it done against Discovery Canyon when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 3-0. Can the Gladiators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
