The Dixie County Bears will take on the Union County Fighting Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixie County will be strutting in after a win while Union County will be coming in after a loss.
Dixie County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bell, sneaking past 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since March 12th.

Raylyn Buchanan made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Skyliar Love was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Hadlee Hines also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Dixie County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Union County suffered their closest defeat since May 8, 2025 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Branford by a score of 7-5. The Fighting Tigers haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Addyson Hinds was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Dixie County's record now sits at 6-14. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dixie County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Union County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dixie County couldn't quite get it done against Union County when the teams last played last Monday as they fell 10-7. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
