The Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Stamford Black Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Norwalk scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Kolbe-Cathedral still came out on top. Kolbe-Cathedral blew past Norwalk 87-55 at home.
Meanwhile, Stamford had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Amistad 82-44 on the road. With Stamford ahead 46-20 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Stamford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ejai Presley , who scored 12 points along with nine steals and eight assists. Another player making a difference was Damar Taylor , who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Kolbe-Cathedral's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Stamford, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Kolbe-Cathedral was able to grind out a solid victory over Stamford in their previous meeting back in February, winning 60-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kolbe-Cathedral since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
