Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ferris). Everything went their way against the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups on Thursday as they made off with a 24-3 victory. The Saxons have beaten the Bullpups the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bullpups has come to flipping the script.
Bella Hao made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Hao was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cadence Hyndman was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marrin Teel, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Ferris kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Ferris' record is now 8-11. As for Gonzaga Prep, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.
