After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Omaha Nation, Custer was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the McLaughlin Mustangs as they made off with a 50-29 win. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 43-38 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

The win got Custer back to even at 1-1. As for McLaughlin, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Custer will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mahpiya Luta at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for McLaughlin, they will finish 2025 at home by hosting Parshall at 5:30 p.m. on the 27th.
