After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North, the Florence Gophers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They breezed by Tonopah Valley at home to the tune of 68-15. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Florence also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Florence got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keylee Scarbrough out in front who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of E.C. Turk-Francis, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds.
Florence's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Tonopah Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Florence will head out on the road to face off against Odyssey Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Odyssey Institute comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Tonopah Valley, they will take on North Valley Christian Academy at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
