On Thursday, Jarrell didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Alice, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win.
Jarrell found their leader in underclassman Aniya Taylor, who scored 18 points along with three steals. That makes it 22 consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least 25% of Jarrell's points. Crislyn Anthony was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Jarrell is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Alice, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Jarrell won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flour Bluff on December 29th. Flour Bluff presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jarrell in Texas (Flour Bluff is ranked 128th, while Jarrell is ranked 368th). As for Alice, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Calallen at 5:00 p.m.
