The Emery Spartans entered their tilt with the Union Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Emery put the hurt on Union with a sharp 54-30 victory on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Emery, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Emery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Justice, who scored 15 points. The game was Justice's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Stilson, who scored 6 points along with 6 assists and 5 steals.
Emery's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Emery will be playing at home against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Emery likes a good challenge. As for Union, they will head out on the road to face off against Manti at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Manti presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Union in Utah (Manti is ranked sixth, while Union is ranked 65th).
