Central Heights is 2-8 against Council Grove since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Central Heights Vikings will be playing at home against the Council Grove Braves at 7:00 p.m. Central Heights will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Central Heights took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 63-23 win over Northern Heights. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Central Heights has managed all season.
Ethan Rowan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. Rowan is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least nine every time he's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Council Grove lost to Sacred Heart at home by a decisive 65-48 margin on Friday. Council Grove has not had much luck with Sacred Heart recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Kolby Rose put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyzer Spittles, who scored 11 points.
Central Heights has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Council Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-9.
Central Heights beat Council Grove 61-51 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Central Heights repeat their success, or does Council Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
