The Pacifica Tritons put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on Rio Mesa with a sharp 28-3 win. The result was nothing new for Pacifica, who have now won four contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Pacifica's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Dillon led the charge by picking up 210 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Dillon's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards. Pacifica also got a significant boost from Josh Joyner, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.
Pacifica's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points per game. As for Rio Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacifica will challenge Oxnard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxnard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 454th, while Pacifica is ranked 53rd). As for Rio Mesa, they will head out on the road to face off against Dos Pueblos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dos Pueblos is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
