The Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Immaculate Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Kolbe-Cathedral has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
While Kolbe-Cathedral's win against Harding wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Presidents 14-13. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Presidents recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Tyiana Conquest made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs off six hits. Conquest was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played.
In other batting news, Jaylynn Benjamin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Galarza, who went 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs.
Kolbe-Cathedral kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Immaculate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Notre Dame Prep.
Like Kolbe-Cathedral, Immaculate also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Costa. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Costa was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Kolbe-Cathedral's record now sits at 5-6. As for Immaculate, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Kolbe-Cathedral suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Immaculate when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
