Newington extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Josiah Sims. Everything went the Nor'easters' way against the Bristol Eastern Lancers on Saturday as they made off with a 29-6 win for which the team can thank Sims, who rushed for 167 yards and a pair of scores. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Newington is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Although Bristol Eastern took the loss, they still got scores from Aidyn Davies, Mario Walker, and Jacob Kingsley.

Newington's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Bristol Eastern, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Newington will host Wethersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Nor'easters 10.1, the Eagles 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Bristol Eastern, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bristol Central at 10:30 a.m. on the 27th.
